Reflect on the season’s successes, surprises, and lessons learned in ecological horticulture. Explore what worked, what didn’t, and how design, landscape practices, and ecological function can shape a smarter approach for the season ahead.

New research is reshaping what we know about how plants perform, shift their ranges, and support wildlife, with direct implications for how landscapes are designed. Featuring leading researchers, horticulturists, and ecological designers, this conference explores how planting design can restore degraded sites, strengthen ecological function, and connect individual landscapes to the broader regional ecosystem. Sessions draw on current findings in species range shifts and plant-pollinator relationships, and introduce decision matrixes for weighing straight species, nativars, and non-native alternatives to maximize ecological benefit. Attendees will gain evidence-based strategies for designing sustainable landscapes that adapt, endure, and thrive in a changing climate.

CEUs will be available from NOFA, APLD, and LA/CES.
