Inside/Out: A River Runs Through It | Boston

Outdoors. In person. Free.

In this pair of BSLA Design Award winning projects, we’ll see environmental and urban transformation. We’ll start at Audubon Circle at 4:30 and then walk down the street to 401 Park (5:15 start); at each project we’ll see where asphalt and concrete have been removed, reconfigured, and replanted to absorb stormwater, improve heat islands, enable pedestrian and bicycle circulation, and reconnect to the Emerald Necklace, building on the work of the Muddy River restoration. In so doing, these new open spaces also create new places for 21st century gathering, relaxation, and play, along with vibrant new community identities.
