Landscape Designer + Visualization Specialist

Landscape Interactions, an interdisciplinary landscape planning and design firm based in Western Massachusetts with a renowned focus on biodiversity and science-based practices, is seeking candidates for a full-time role as a Landscape Designer + Visualization Specialist. The ideal applicant will be self-motivated; possess a natural ability to communicate clearly and beautifully through visualizations, graphics and text; enjoy working independently as well as collaboratively; and have prior experience in graphic design and social media.

This position consists of a diverse mix of landscape design, production graphics, 3D modeling and public engagement through visual design and social media. Applicants with experience using Adobe Suite, Rhino, Lumion and/or Blender will be strongly preferred; a prior familiarity with native plants, farming or gardening, and scientific research is a plus.

This is a full-time position with medical and dental coverage, paid time off, and the opportunity to work remotely approximately 75% of the time. Our projects span New England and New York State, and site visits occur throughout the year. Candidates should be based within 100 miles of Leyden, Massachusetts or be willing to move closer to the area once hired.

Our work includes landscape design for public parks, farms, campuses, indigenous tribes and non-profit organizations; climate resilience planning, design and community engagement; collaborations with volunteer-based groups in ecological restoration and rewilding; and regional planning at municipal and watershed scales. Required Qualifications:

  • Master in Landscape Architecture, Ecological Landscape Design or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to travel to project sites across Massachusetts and neighboring states

  • Strong visual representation and graphic design skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite

  • Experience in 3D modeling

  • Experience managing one or more social media accounts

  • Ability to work independently and self-direct

  • Desire to grow alongside the company long-term

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Land F/X, Rhino, Lumion and/or Blender

  • Familiarity with Northeast native plants

  • Experience in gardening, farming, ecological restoration, landscaping and/or horticulture

  • Experience in community outreach and engagement

  • Experience in scientific research

Benefits + Compensation:

  • Starting salary $26 to $28/hr ($54,080 to $58,240 annual FTE), commensurate with experience

  • Flexible hours and remote work arrangements approximately 75% of the time
