Richardson & Associates is a small landscape architecture firm making a big impact on landscapes throughout New England and beyond. The firm is located just minutes from the ocean, mountains, and the beautiful city of Portland, Maine. We have an outstanding roster of exceptional projects currently in the office and on the horizon, and are seeking a talented individual with a passion for design to become an integral part of our growing team.

Our projects are diverse in scale, dynamic in range, and typically include working on integrated teams with a variety of like-minded allied professionals in many fields.
The office’s portfolio includes a diverse range of high quality design-focused projects in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Project types include recreational, institutional, streetscapes, historic, civic, community/downtown, brownfields; larger scale multi-year residential projects make up a good percentage of the office’s workload. These distinctive projects occur on the state’s rugged coast and islands, as well as within the mountains and alongside the lakes of the region’s interior.
What you will bring:
A passion for site/landscape design.
A minimum of three years of experience in a professional design office
Experience in and a passion for the design of a diversity of landscapes
Experience in project coordination and/or project management
Excellent communication skills
Excellent time-management skills
Excellent written skills
Excellent graphic skills
Excellent technical skills
Required: proficiencies in
AutoCAD
Microsoft Office
Adobe Creative Suite
SketchUp (and/or other 3-D modeling software)
What you will do at R&A:
Day-to-day management of multiple projects across a wide spectrum of types, sizes, and tasks.
Contribute to all phases of a project, from their inception to their completion, including:
conceptual design
schematic design
design development
project coordination
planning
analysis
permitting
bidding administration
public speaking
report writing
construction documentation and administration
Engage in a very hands-on design process involving an active and integrated roll with clients and team-members including internal colleagues, architects, engineers, artists, and contractors.
