Project Manager
Carson Douglas Landscape Architecture (CD–LA) is a bicoastal, multi-disciplinary design firm with offices in California, Maine, and New York, dedicated to creating timeless, imaginative landscapes that inspire discovery, joy, and balance. Founded by William Carson Joyce and Michael Douglas Brennan, our small and highly collaborative team of landscape artists blends distinct regional sensibilities to deliver robust design visions that are both highly technical and deeply artistic. At CD–LA, climate responsibility and environmental stewardship are table stakes; we approach every residential and community project with a commitment to the land, prioritizing native plants, local materials, and sustainable, regenerative practices. We believe the site is always the star, and we pride ourselves on a meticulous, ego-free collaborative process that translates complex environmental problem-solving into effortless, natural outdoor spaces where people can gather, retreat, and connect with nature.
We are seeking a highly creative and technically versatile Senior Landscape Designer or Project Manager with 5 or more years of professional experience to join our fully remote, bicoastal team. While our entire studio operates remotely, we are looking for someone ideally based in Maine or New York to facilitate regional collaboration and local site visits. In this dynamic role, you will bridge the gap between bold design vision and flawless execution, leveraging your strong artistic instincts alongside modern design tools—including advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D rendering, and AI-assisted workflows. Beyond the digital workspace, you will act as a central hub for our projects, confidently leading client management and steering work through the construction administration phase to ensure our design intent is beautifully realized on-site. If you are a self-motivated, proactive problem-solver who thrives in an agile, eco-conscious, and ego-free remote environment, this is an incredible opportunity to shape impactful, timeless landscapes from concept to completion.
