Senior Landscape Architect / Designer
We are a high-end residential landscape firm seeking a Senior Landscape Architect / Designer to join our team. This is a client-facing role where design excellence meets relationship-building. What You’ll Do
Meet with clients to understand their property, aesthetics, and goals, and translate those into creative, functional landscape designs.

What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Landscape Architecture and at least 4 years of work experience within a Landscape Architect/design studio.
Strong design sensibility with the ability to link architecture, landscape, and client vision seamlessly.
Proven ability to manage client relationships and present designs with confidence.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office; strong hand-rendering skills are a plus.

Responsibilities
Construction management
Manage contractors to ensure construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
Manage infrastructure construction, e.g., mainline water installation, solar power systems, irrigation systems.
Build partnerships with construction suppliers, e.g., for fruit tree provision, materials, etc.
Develop and implement safety protocols, and ensure they are followed.
Report weekly, and monthly on progress, indicators, to the Engagement & Construction Director.
Ensure projects are efficiently, effectively and safely implemented in accordance with organizational procedures, local regulations, contracts and policies.
Meticulously manage project documentation, including field reports, permitting and inspection requirements, and project budget.
Manage creation of construction project management tools and processes.
Support community engagement in partnership with the Community Engagement Manager to foster engagement throughout the construction process, keeping stakeholders informed and involved, e.g., through a planting day.
Design, Documentation, and Permitting
Create new park base plans and site condition plans to guide construction and ensure adherence to zoning regulations.
Obtain necessary permits and demonstrate understanding of local zoning ordinances.
Design, communication, and documentation of construction processes.
Qualifications
Either a Bachelor’s Degree & 5 years of related experience, or 5-7 years of related experience with demonstrated success in construction of landscape projects (parks, residential landscapes, etc)
Location
Important: This is a mostly in-person Boston, Massachusetts-based position that will require frequent travel between Boston neighborhoods, including managing on site construction and meeting with community members. We are seeking 2 full-time positions: a Project Landscape Architect – Project Manager and a Project Landscape Designer. These positions are hybrid (3 days in-office/2 days remote). You will be involved with a wide variety of projects such as education (K-12) campuses, parks/playgrounds, sports/recreational facilities, municipal, and multi-family housing.
Project Landscape Architect - Project Manager
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage landscape design efforts from concept to completion.
• Prepare and review design plans, construction documents, and planting plans.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and client deliverables.
• Mentor and train junior staff, fostering their professional development.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring successful project outcomes.
• Attend meetings, conduct site visits, and perform construction administration duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture and a PLA license.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape architecture with construction administration experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to mentor staff and develop client relationships.
Project Landscape Designer
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare various exhibits, presentation graphics and renderings
• Prepare schematic landscape design and planting plans, and tree preservation plans
• Complete site visits and tree assessments (local plant knowledge is an asset)
• Assist with the preparation of construction documents, details and specifications
• Attend project meetings with senior staff
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant design experience
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite.
• Good organizational skills to manage priorities and deadlines

What You’ll Do:

Lead the design process for complex projects, producing high-quality conceptual designs, construction documentation, and presentation materials.
Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations using a combination of freehand and digital graphics.
Oversee site assessments, analyze existing conditions, and contribute to field layout and construction administration.
Develop planting plans with an advanced understanding of the New England palette.
Engage in municipal permitting processes, including zoning reviews, public speaking, and presentations.
Work seamlessly with architects, civil engineers, consultants, project managers, and contractors to ensure project success.
What We’re Looking For:

Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
