Landscape Designer

For over 35 years, Andover Landscape has been trusted by discerning homeowners who value quality and seamless execution. As a full-service design-build firm, our expertise spans landscape architecture, site work, pools, masonry, and horticulture, allowing us to create outdoor spaces refined to their fullest potential.

Andover Landscape Design and Construction is seeking a Landscape Designer to join our in-house design studio in Andover, MA. This is a full-time, in-office position working directly under Senior Landscape Architect Tim Houlihan, who brings over 30 years of professional experience.

This is a rare opportunity to grow within a small, award-winning residential design-build firm where projects move from concept through construction. Our designers are involved in the full process and see their work built by our in-house construction team.

Important: This is a full-time, in-office position based in Andover, MA. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the office daily. This is not a remote or hybrid role.

Role Overview

The Landscape Designer will translate Tim's hand drawings into buildable 3-D models and presentation visuals. This role functions as a key technical extension of our lead designer, supporting the accurate execution of design intent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate hand-drawn concepts into accurate 3D models

  • Develop site plans, planting plans, grading plans, and detailed construction drawings

  • Produce high-quality renderings and presentation graphics

  • Incorporate feedback from senior leadership into ongoing design work

  • Manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail and organization

Qualifications

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field required. This role is intended for candidates with 3–7 years of working experience; however, highly capable recent graduates with advanced software skills and a strong portfolio may be considered.

  • Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion and Adobe InDesign with the ability to produce accurate, presentation-ready graphics and renderings independently

  • Able to take direction and implement design revisions accurately and efficiently

  • Able to quickly learn and adapt to internal standards, workflows, and project requirements
